April Favourites | Better late than never

Now I know that I'm a little late this month but I've been busy with my new job, so I do apologise but as they say it's better late than never afterall. I've been loving quite a few things this month so it's been hard having to narrow it down into a blog post, I always struggle to do these blog posts because it's sometimes hard to actually pick just a few favourites.

In April I really enjoyed starting to read a book I got for my birthday, it is the book 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg. I'd been wanting this book for a while way before my birthday so I was really happy to receive it, I love the story so far, I like being able to relate to a book and I didn't have a problem connecting to the story I won't give anything away for those that haven't read it yet or are only at the beginning of the story, but I really do think it's a good book to read this spring, so grab yourself a copy!

Also this month, well it's the May copy but shhhhhh...

I bought the Vogue magazine, I used to buy it a lot a couple of months ago but sometimes certain places don't stock vogue. But I really wanted to start to put a scrap book together for this seasons and next seasons fashion trends to then share with you guys, I love making things and putting things together and I'll have a lot of spare time over the summer so I am really looking forward to building it up and showing you the end result.

This month I am really loving my Urban Decay Naked 3 eye shadow palette, it comes with 15 different pigments. I'm quite fair skinned meaning really dark colours don't exactly suit me as I have blue eyes and fair hair naturally, this palette is filled with pinks and light browns with one really dark colour which can be used for the smoke eye effect which I must admit I'm still perfecting, but in spring and summer I feel that you don't want anything too heavy on your eyes as it gets quite warm so just a stroke of eye shadow and a coat of mascara is a good alternative for the spring/summer season.

Urban Decay have two other palettes out to go with the naked 3, these are naked 2 and the naked palette, they're all around £38 for one, I picked mine up at a Debenhams store. Little bit pricy but well worth the money, mine has lasted me ages.

Definitely one of my favourites this season!

I'm really loving lip balm this spring, especially my lollibalm by benefit, just for the simple reason it makes a great alternative to wearing lipstick all the time, it can be a pain in summer to have to keep applying lipstick during the day. I have just been carrying this round in my bag, it's just super easy to whip this out and apply without a mirror, no smudging, slightly pigmented with a pale pink, also a bonus when it comes to keeping your lips hydrated!

There's probably only one thing I hate when it comes to spring and summer and that's when my hair becomes dry, now that I have blonde ombre, I want to keep it healthy so I've just been using Schwarzkopf  'got2be oil-licious' this is a tame and shine oil with extracts of argan oil, I use this daily, mostly after a shower just to put on the ends of my hair, it has really been helping as well as giving my hair a 3 minute treatment each week and laying off the hair straighteners!

It's definitely one to try and can be used on all hair types, this can be found in any drugstore for around £3-4.

I have loads and loads I could write about this month for my favourites, but it would take me forever to write just something little about each of them!

I hope that you are all enjoying spring so far, I know that I am, I have so much to look forward to in the next week and I can't wait to share it with you guys!

Thanks for reading!

Puppy Haul | Getting a puppy

As some of you may know if you follow me on instagram or twitter you will know that in a week and four days, yes I am counting, that me and my lovely boyfriend will be bringing home the cutest pug puppy in entire world!

I am super excited, it's been hectic trying to sort out arrangements as... I don't know if you know but I recently got a new job, obviously me and my boyfriend also go to college sometime in the week so we've been trying to balance who watches her at what times in the week, but thankfully that's all sorted and I'm hoping that nothing comes up meaning we have to change the plans all over again.

- Sorry for rambling on -

So, obviously before you go get your new dog/puppy you're going to need some stuff to get them settled into your home. So today I'm going to do a puppy haul just covering the basic things you're going to need when you first bring your puppy home.

First you're going to want a designated area that's a place your puppy is going to feel safe and comfortable in, these places can include the family room or the kitchen, this gives your puppy limited area to explore giving you limited area to clean up after your puppy making it a bunch easier in the long run.

In this area you're going to want a crate, this is considered an essential if you want your pup to be potty trained and housebroken properly, it wants to be big enough for your puppy to stand up and lie down in without their nose or tail to be touching the crate at either end. Personal choice really you can separate the crate into sections like below, one side for a place to sleep and another for a puppy pad. Puppies like dark cosy warm areas so a blanket over the top is ideal. This is where your puppy will stay when you decide that you can leave your puppy in the crate whilst you have errands to run, you can find crates in most pet stores such as pets at home, or you can order online.

Next thing you're going to need is of course food, that is the main thing, now ideally you're going to want to stick with the food that has been given or recommended by the place/breeder you got your puppy from, for us we are sticking with pets at homes own brand 'Wainwrights' this was given to us by the breeder we are getting our puppy from. You want to make sure that you give your puppy quality food so that they don't get an upset tummy. So make sure to check the ingredients.

Treats, puppies and dogs loveee treats, and they're going to be key when you're training your puppy to go do their business outside, or teaching them commands, praising them with a treat is a great way to let them know they've done a good job, so you just want a couple of basic treats to get you started, just tiny treats, things that they're going to like, teething treats are always great too for young puppies!

Another essential is toys, you're going to want toys for your puppy, these are a great boredom buster for puppies, also a great substitute to chewing your things or the furniture, you're going to want some cuddly toys, chew toys and a ball for them to play with, puppies can suffer with separation anxiety when they leave their mum and litter mates, so cuddly toys are always great help when it comes to your puppy going to sleep at night, chew toys are amazing substitutes for chewing things they shouldn't & a ball big enough so that it won't  roll under furniture meaning you don't have to chase after it when the puppy looses it.

Puppy Kong -  I heard loads of great things about them, they're a hollow toy you can put treats in to keep your puppy occupied if you have to go out for a period of time, this one is from pets at home and it was £6.00.

Cuddle Comforter - This was also from pets at home and it was around £4.00.

Spiked pink ball - This is great and it's quite big and it doesn't roll under any of the furniture which is great and it was £3.00.

You're going to want two decent sized bowls, one for the food and one for fresh water, I personally recommend ceramic or stainless steel bowls as plastic is easily chewed by your puppy meaning bacteria gathers, maybe resulting in your puppy getting sick, so I prefer ceramic, they're heavy and not easily knocked over, definitely recommend, we got these two specific bowls from pets at home, the pink one was £4.00 and they cream one was £3.00.

Puppy pads are also another thing I consider an essential when it comes to having a puppy that isn't potty trained, they're great when it comes to training your puppy to go outside to do it's business, your puppy should already be familiar with these as your breeder may have used them, don't go out and spend a load of money on these as all you're going to do is throw them away, any local supermarket should have these at an affordable price.

Grooming products, some puppy shampoo, a brush and some nail clippers are always great to have, this is puppy shampoo from pets at home and it was around £4.00, it smells great, I personally think that is smells like baby powder, which is a bonus, we have a basic soft brush just for while she is a puppy but you can get them from pets at home for as cheap as £3.00, nail clippers don't have to be pet based just as long as they do the job because puppies claws can get quite sharp. And trust me dogs shed whether it says a little or a lot, you're going to need to brush your puppies fur regularly.

Bedding... you're going to want your puppy to have some bedding to sleep on, this is a bed from pets at home and it was around the £15.00 mark, it is by the brand button and bear and it is a microwavable bed, it contains a little pocket underneath which contains a wheat bag you put in the microwave, I think this is great as puppies love being warm so I'm really happy with this, the blanket is from the same range and it was £5.00 it's great for when your puppy sits on your lap meaning you don't get covered in pet hair.

Last but not the least, you're going to need a collar/harness and a lead that is the perfect size for your puppy. We have decided to wait till our puppy is home to go pick out a harness & lead, that way we will have a better idea of the size. But it's best to get something that's adjustable so they can grow into it, because puppies grow... fast.

So that was my puppy haul, most the products were bought by myself and my boyfriend and the others were given, most from pets at home you can click the link here to view a range of products not just for puppies/dogs but for a range of other animals, please feel free to post comments or ask questions down below, I hope you enjoyed reading!

Freeman Beauty Review | Feel Beautiful

I hope that you my lovely readers enjoyed your bank holiday Monday, I know that I sure did, that's because, recently I got offered some lovely products from the wonderful Freeman Beauty UK
so me and my mum decided to have a pamper day testing them, it's safe to say that I am very impressed with both the products that were enclosed.

Freeman beauty is proof that beauty can be fun, fresh, frugal and flirty!

From 1976 they've been making their beauty mark on the industry by infusing their formulas with amino acids and proteins for superior skin benefits! But they didn't stop there: Their sensational facial mask sachets, sophisticated anti-aging formulas and year round pedicure essentials have paved their way into mine and many other peoples bathing routine of skin savvy women & men worldwide.

With more than 75 products to choose from, I think it's time you find your freeman beauty fit!

The first face mask that I was offered to try was the 'Feeling beautiful Diamond mineral rinse mask' this can be used on all skin types. I'm not usually a fan of facemasks as they tend to dry out my skin but with these I didn't have a problem. I applied this on a clean face quite generously, it smells great, which is good because there's nothing worse than putting something on your face you don't like the smell of. Also, I am grateful for how much product is in one sachet, you could easy get 3 applications out of this, this is a clay mask, it felt kind of gritty on my skin but that was what is called 'Diamond Dust' which really exfoliated my skin and left it soft and smooth.

I left it on for around 5-7 minutes (the given time) my face began to feel quite tight the longer that I left it on along with a quite tingly feeling, kind of like the sensation you get with plumping lipgloss, not painful at all, then to wash off the mask I just filled the wash basin with warm water massaging the mask off my face, then patting it dry with a soft towel, I realised after that there were slight dustings of glitter remained on my skin, obviously meaning the 'Diamond minerals' which I love!

My results with the mask were instant, my skin felt soft and looked noticeably brighter, I'm very happy with this product.

The second mask enclosed was the Pineapple Facial Enzyme Mask
the smell of this was amazing,  this is an enzyme activated exfoliating mask, it contains pineapple extract, Sea kelp and alpha hydroxy acid. I followed the given instructions, this sachet would also give you a good 3 applications in my opinion.

When applying, it was cold to the skin which I think you could mistake it as a 'stinging' sensation, not at all painful, I left it on the full given time which is a bit different to the others, it is 5-10, I left it the full 10 to get maximum effect, I washed it off with warm water and repeated the same with the soft towel, patting it dry. My skin felt refreshed and very soft, the red marks round my nose had disappeared slightly and under my eyes looked a lot brighter too. I am also really impressed with this facemask.

I definitely recommend both the facemasks for anyone looking to try anything new or are just looking for the perfect pamper session products, these two are the ones to use. They are both paraben free, not tested on animals which is also a bonus,  just £1.50 for a sachet with 2 applications although I think you could get more out of one sachet, I think that's a bargin and an affordable price for anyone. The feeling beautiful face masks are currently stocked at Tesco. Another product of theirs 'Barefoot' has 7 tubes and 5 sachets in the range, these tubes are stocked at superdrug but you can find all these products at Freeman Beauty UK

I am offering you my lovely readers 20% off and free postage and packaging, just simply add 'VIP20' at the checkout.

You can connect with Freeman Beauty UK over on Facebook and on Twitter

I hope you all enjoyed reading!

The Perfect Prom? | Class of 2014

It's that time of year again, everyone is getting ready for their year 11 prom in the UK, so I thought that I would go back in time to my prom & share the excitement of finding a dress, getting your makeup done, to having all eyes on you.

My prom was on the 9th of May 2014, just before my exams, although I was excited, I kind of felt that it was wrong to celebrate before I actually took my exams, I mean it's alright having a good time before hand, but shouldn't we all have been revising?
I thought it would have been better to have the prom after so then we had something to look forward to after working hard revising and all that. But I guess my high school didn't think like that.

You're probably all wondering why I still have my invite & my name card, I don't know really maybe I was thinking about the future & imagining blogging about it - lol - it was probably just for the sake of keeping really, I think I'm probably the only one that did.

I didn't really start looking for a dress until like a month before the prom I didn't really see the rush for a dress, there was going to be plenty about so I didn't really see fit to go out months early like most other girls did. My original choice of dress was a Sherri hill short dress, they're probably the most popular prom dresses in the UK, but I didn't really want my mum exceeding a budget, going all out and blowing £400 on a dress I'm going to wear one night, so girls out there thinking of going and blowing ££££ on a dress this year, don't. Because my prom dress has been sat in the wardrobe for a whole year, yours will probably do the same, my dress is probably super happy that I got it out to do this blog.

When my Sherri Hill idea went out the window my mum brought to my attention a brand called Chi Chi London, I'd never heard of the brand but as my mum is a major twitter user always entering competitions, she knew about them & followed them.

http://www.chichiclothing.com/

Chi Chi London is a leading retailer of ladies fashion, specialising is cocktail, prom and evening dresses. They are dedicated to bringing the finest catwalk fashion to the high street at affordable prices. It is their belief that looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. There dresses will make you stand out in any crowd, they do their utmost to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved in all aspects of the brand. The Chi Chi London brand was created in London 25 years ago and has now grown into a recognised worldwide brand chosen by many such as myself. They manufacture the finest quality products at affordable prices for everyone. Their dedicated team of bright and clearly talented designers aim to push fashion whilst maintaining the main stream. I couldn't recommend them anymore if I tried.

The dress I chose was called the 'Alicia Dress' it is a floral lace one shoulder skater dress, it has detail on the bodice of the dress with diamantes and lace covering the top half and the strap, it is also fully lined & has a padded bust for support and an elasticated back for better fit.  It was around £54.00 when I bought it. I cannot fault this dress in any shape or form, it is absolutely perfect for any formal occasion, it's not too long

My shoes I absolutely love my shoes, I'm not sure where I got these from but I know that they're super sparkly, I would imagine the sparkles are still in this year they generally offer a vast array of different colour shoes with the glitter and the diamantes. It's always awkward when someone has the same shoes as you - thankfully for me that didn't happen!

I absolutely loved the dress, I felt really beautiful, my makeup was done by a lovely friend of my mums, but I have a few ideas for makeup products that I would have used to accommodate the style of my dress if I hadn't of had my mums friend to do it for me. Just pale pinks and browns for eyeshadow, a medium coverage foundation, I'd have used shimmer powder and just a bit of the Mac lipstick in the shade 'Pervette' I'd have wore some eyelashes probably by Mac with some liquid liner & of course i'd have had my eyebrows done, shaped and would have used an eyebrow pencil.

My hair was done by my lovely hairdresser who has known me for years and done my hair for as long as I can remember. I had a look online for some ideas of what to do my hair like and I spotted a bow, of course she worked her magic and there you go...

I got loads of compliments that night!

My nails were done by another lovely friend of mine and my mums, if you've seen my instagram (link is on the right of this page) you will see that she still does my nails, I absolutely loved my prom nails, she always does a great job! In case you're wondering these are acrylic with the glitter pigment and gel top coat, finished with a bow on the top.

As far as the night goes, they had professional photographers there, I had a couple of photos doing with a few old friends, they offered a 3 course meal I don't think people were very interested in eating, as there was a disco with a DJ, people were forever requesting songs, constant dancing, the amount of girls that shrank due to taking their heels off was immense, the room grew about a foot, I still feel quite proud that I didn't take off my shoes until my mum picked me up - Go girl!

My advise to people going to a prom is, don't go spend loads of money on a dress you're going to wear one night, because I can assure the dress you wear will be in the back of your wardrobe this time next year.

So...
I wish you all the best of luck in all your exams & in whatever you choose to study at post 16 or college, enjoy the break in the summer, have fun & don't be nervous about your results in august, just try your best.

 Thanks for reading
